The Department of Agriculture implemented a people strategy that complements and supports our strategic priorities. The people strategy describes how we—individually and as a department—can foster our culture and capability and strengthen our client focus in the context of the government's priorities for the department and in a dynamic and changing workplace.

The department works to sustain the way of life and prosperity of all Australians. We are committed to ensuring Indigenous and non-Indigenous people continue to work together to increase reconciliation. Our reconciliation action plan aligns with our diversity strategy and aims to help us build and maintain beneficial relationships by respecting the contribution of Indigenous Australians and their communities.
