The Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources, the Hon. David Littleproud MP commissioned a Review of the Regulatory Capability and Culture of the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources in the Regulation of Live Animal Exports. This review was conducted by Mr Philip Moss AM between May – September 2018.
During the review, Mr Moss and the review team engaged with a wide range of stakeholders including departmental officers, the live animal exports industry, animal welfare organisations, producers, and state and territory agencies. Mr Moss also travelled to Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and the Northern Territory to meet relevant parties and visit export facilities.
The review received 43 written submissions of which 25 were provided in-confidence. The below 18 submissions were provided by authors who agreed to have their submissions published.
