Biosecurity risk analysis

​​​​​​​​​The Department of Agriculture is responsible for assessing the biosecurity risks associated with the import of a range of goods from overseas.

Risk analyses may be conducted in response to new information about biosecurity risks or to an import proposal.

The analysis may be conducted as a:

  • Biosecurity Import Risk Analysis, under the Biosecurity Act 2015, or
  • Non-regulated risk analysis, reviewing existing biosecurity measures.
