The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources is responsible for assessing the biosecurity risks associated with the import of a range of goods from overseas.
Risk analyses may be conducted in response to new information about biosecurity risks or to an import proposal.
The analysis may be conducted as a:
- Biosecurity Import Risk Analysis, under the Biosecurity Act 2015, or
- Non-regulated risk analysis, reviewing existing biosecurity measures.
