Public consultation on imported food reforms legislative changes

​​​Public consultation on the draft Imported Food Control Amendment Bill 20XX (the Bill) and Imported Food Control Amendment Regulations 20XX (the Regulations) has closed.

Members of the public, food importing companies and Australia's trading partners were invited to provide comments on the exposure draft Bill and Regulations. The consultation period opened on 20 March 2017 and closed on 4 May 2017.

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources would like to thank respondents that provided submissions to this public consultation. All relevant material received during the consultation period will be taken into consideration to finalise the draft legislation.
