91-2015 - Protected Industrial Action

Who does this notice affect?

Selected Department of Agriculture and Water Resources clients and stakeholders.

What has changed?

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (the department) has received multiple notices from the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU) for periods of protected industrial action occurring across different areas of the department’s operations on consecutive days from 6 to 10 November 2015. 

The following information details the locations and times of protected industrial action, current as at 12:00pm (EST) on 2 November 2015.

Data entry bans on 6th, 7th, 8th 9th and 10th November 2015:

All CPSU members in all States and Territories: - a ban on data entry of documentation into tablet computers required for the release or processing of cargo, mail, goods, containers, vessels or vehicles.

  • The action will start at 00:01 hours local time and end at 23:59 hours local time.

Tailgate inspection bans on 6th, 7th, 8th 9th and 10th November 2015:

All CPSU members in all States and Territories: - a ban on performing, or supervising employees who are performing, tailgate inspections.

  • The action will start at 00:00 hours local time and end at 06:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 06:00 hours local time and end at 12:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 12:00 hours local time and end at 18:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 18:00 hours local time and end at 24:00 hours local time.

Country action list bans on 6th, 7th, 8th 9th, and 10th November 2015:

All CPSU members in all States and Territories: - a ban on performing, or supervising employees who are performing, Giant African Snail inspections.

  • The action will start at 00:01 hours local time and end at 23:59 hours local time.

Imported Food Control Act inspection bans on 6th, 7th, 8th 9th, and 10th November 2015:

All CPSU members in all States and Territories: - a ban on performing, or supervising employees who are performing, inspections of food covered by the Imported Food Control Act 1992.

  • The action will start at 00:00 hours local time and end at 06:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 06:00 hours local time and end at 12:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 12:00 hours local time and end at 18:00 hours local time.
  • The action will start at 18:00 hours local time and end at 24:00 hours local time.

The department expects the above actions to cause disruption to our normal services. The department is implementing contingency arrangements and working with clients and other government agencies to minimise the disruption.

The department will continue to provide updates through our industry notices, on our website and through direct engagement with clients and stakeholders where necessary.
