Drought Communities Program

The Australian Government’s Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper includes $35 million for local infrastructure projects that provide options for people whose work opportunities have been adversely affected by drought. Funding is targeted at projects that stimulate local community spending, use local resources, businesses and suppliers, and/or provide a long-lasting benefit to communities and the agricultural industries on which they depend.

The Drought Communities Program is being implemented by the Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development.
