Purpose

To advise accredited veterinarians and the livestock export industry of the name change for AQIS accredited veterinarians (AAVs) in response to the retirement of the AQIS brand.

Background

With the retirement of the AQIS name brand, a name change for AQIS accredited veterinarians (AAVs) who prepare livestock for export and accompany livestock on export voyages is required.

Instructions

The new name for accredited veterinarians is Australian Government Accredited Veterinarian with the widely used acronym of ‘AAV’ being retained. All documentation issued in relation to AAVs will reflect this name change as of 1 November 2013.
