In response to recommendations of the Independent Review of Conditions for the Export of Sheep to the Middle East during the Norther Hemisphere Summer, the Export Control (Animals) Order 2004 (Orders)has been amended.
The changes made to the Order required amendments be made to the application for export permit and health certificate. These amendments are effective immediately and apply to all livestock consignments. The amened application covers a number of new declarations including:
- stocking density
- heat stress management plans
- verification of vessel pen air turnover
- vessel watering systems.
Consignments that do not involve sheep travelling through waters in the Arabian Sea north of latitude 11ᴼN between the months of May and October do not have to complete sections (i) to (n) of the application.
The completion of the amended application for export permit and health certificate July 2018 is mandatory for all consignments including non-sheep consignments. This form replaces the previously issued Application for Export Permit and Health Certificate issued in November 2016.
