Purpose
To notify stakeholders that the department has published the core documents for approved arrangement livestock exports (core documents list) version 2 which will come into effect on 1 February 2022.
In addition to this, a core documents functionality on TRACE will be released on 17 December 2021 to allow exporters and the department to streamline the management of core documents for consignments.
Key points
- The department has reviewed the existing core documents list (version 1) and the following changes have been incorporated into the core documents list version 2:
- Amended documentation references for increased clarity
- Removed outdated references and documentation
- Included AAV (accredited veterinarian) health & welfare declaration for all markets
- Ensured alignment with importing country requirements (Brunei Darussalam, China, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam)
- A transitional period will occur between now and 31 January 2022 where the core documents list version 1 will be phased out to allow industry time to adjust to the changes.
- The core documents list version 2 will come into effect on 1 February 2022 where version 1 will be superseded.
- The department encourages exporters to adhere to the core documents list version 2 during the transitional period.
- On 17 December 2021, a core document functionality on TRACE will be released which will reflect the core documents list version 2 to aid industry with the transition. This functionality is not mandatory however aims to streamline the management of core documents for consignments to reduce the amount of time spent on the Export Permit and Health Certificate process.
- An information webinar session will be held on the week of 20 December 2021 to demonstrate the core document TRACE functionality to exporters and provide an opportunity for questions.
Instructions
- During the transitional period between 17 December 2021 and 31 January 2022, exporters are encouraged to use the updated core documents (version 2). Use of the current version 1 will still be accepted during this time.
- From 1 February 2022, all exporters must comply with the updated core documents list
(version 2). Use of version 1 of the core documents list will no longer be accepted. - The new core documents TRACE functionality is not mandatory.
Background
- The core documents list outlines the minimum export documents required for an export permit and health certificate to be issued by a departmental veterinary officer.
- The core documents are based on the specific export market and apply to exporters with approved arrangements as outlined in the Performance Management and Compliance Guidelines.
