Purpose
To advise stakeholders that the department has updated the current and expired live animal EAN lists available on the department’s webpage.
Key points
- The department has recently updated the list of current and expired EANs available on the department’s webpage: Live Animal Export Advisory Notices.
- As part of this update, several EANs have been moved out of the current EAN list. This includes:
- EANs about independent observers. This information is now available on the independent observer webpage.
- EANs with market access information. This information is now available in the Market Access Notice (MAN) list on the Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) webpage.
- The EANs still listed as current still contain current or on-going advice or requirements. We are working to reduce this list further and move information to a more permanent home to make information easier to find.
- The expired EAN list contains:
- EANs that have been issued since we changed the way we use EANs to be a notification tool only – these are notices that apply at a point in time only and will point you to where the latest information is (for example on our website).
- Previously issued EANs which have had their content moved to a new location – such as our website or Micor.
- EANs with content that is no longer relevant or expired.
Background
- We've changed the way we use EANs. They will be used as a notification tool. Any ongoing requirements will be published on relevant webpages. The EAN will point you to these webpages.
- This work is part of a broader project underway to review content on the department’s live animal export webpages to ensure information is up to date, readily available and easy to find.
