The audit framework is dependent upon the establishment registration type, importing country listings and audit frequency. New entrants into the Tier 2 export system must undergo a minimum of six periodic audits after which they can nominate for twice yearly systems audits or remain on periodic audits.
This document outlines:
- Audit types applicable to export registered red meat abattoirs, wild game processing plants and Independent Boning Rooms (IBRs)
- Audit frequencies, ratings and outcomes
- The requirement for establishments to develop a Corrective Action Plan (CAP) and undergo a Critical Incident Response Audit (CIRA) if the tolerance for marginal and unacceptable audit ratings is breached
