Offshore Heat Treatment Providers
Reminder: Check the Biosecurity Import Conditions (BICON) system, and your Import Permit conditions (if relevant) to determine all import requirements prior to importing, and to confirm that offshore heat treatment is an acceptable treatment option for your commodity.
Dry heat treatment may damage some goods (such as straw hats and dried plant arrangements) and make them brittle and fragile, or even cause them to smoulder or ignite.
Dry heat treatment should not be used on goods made of plastic or goods which have glue within their structure. It is the responsibility of the importer to ensure that the chosen treatment does not damage goods.
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment currently accepts certification from offshore heat treatment providers in all countries provided it is endorsed on a Government Phytosanitary certificate.
