Enzymes

​Information requirements for import permit applications for Enzymes vary depending upon the end use of the enzyme. Please refer to the relevant Biolcheck webpage e.g. Therapeutics, Laboratory materials, Food products, Bioremediation agents for requirements additional to those outlined below.

Less Than 20g or 20ml

The following information is required to accompany all applications to import less than 20g or 20ml of enzymes:

  • Species of origin
  • Level of purification, if relevant (please detail the method used to purify the enzyme)
  • Volume of product
  • End use.

Greater Than 20g or 20ml

The following information is required to accompany all applications to import greater than 20g or 20ml of enzymes.

Plant origin / Derived by a fermentation process (greater than 20g or 20ml)

  • Manufacturing details (preferably in a flow diagram) outlining the products used during manufacture and the methods used to sterilise the materials
  • Species and country of origin for all animal derived ingredients (if derived by a fermentation process)
  • Details of any carriers used (and methods of sterilisation for the carriers)
  • End use.

Animal origin (greater than 20g or 20ml)

  • Species of origin
  • Country of origin of animal derived ingredients
  • Manufacturing details (preferably in a flow diagram) outlining the products used during manufacture and the methods of sterilisation of the materials)
  • End use.
