Agricultural shows bring regional communities together. These shows are part of our culture. They showcase local strengths and hospitality as well as innovative farming techniques. These shows are particularly important during times of drought and other hardships.
Supporting better infrastructure
The Australian Government has committed $20 million over 2 years to support agricultural shows. This funding is available through the Regional Agricultural Show Development Grants Program (AgShows).
These grants will help update, maintain and build showground infrastructure in regional areas.
This will help keep agricultural shows running, invigorate regional communities and bridge the divide between country and city.
How to apply
The AgShows program opened on 4 October 2019 and will close on 13 December 2019. This is a targeted competitive grant program.
Eligible regional show societies and their state and territory peak bodies can apply for grants of up to $500,000. This funding can be used to repair, upgrade, build or buy showground infrastructure or attractions.
