Who does this notice affect?

All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.

Information

Update: The scheduled infrastructure maintenance originally planned for Sunday 11 August to Monday 12 August 2024 did not go ahead as planned and has since been rescheduled.

As a result, the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will be unavailable from 22:00 Monday 12 August to 01:00 Tuesday 13 August 2024 (AEST).

2024-15: NEXDOC planned outage – 12 August 2024 – Honey and Apiculture Products

Registered exporters of honey and apiculture products, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders and approved export permit issuers.

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) users of a planned outage.

The mortality rate for this consignment was 4.53 per cent (151 out of 3,332 cattle exported) exceeding the reportable level of 0.5 per cent for cattle voyages.

In accordance with its usual policy, the department undertook an investigation into the mortality event.

Due to scheduled infrastructure maintenance, the Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS) will be unavailable from 23:00 Sunday 11 August to 01:00 Monday 12 August 2024 (AEST).

Action

Clients are advised to await the completion of this maintenance period before attempting to access this service.

NEXDOC is a system through which exporters can apply for export certification to export honey and apiculture products to certain markets.

173-2024: Expansion of the highly compliant importer (HCI) scheme

All importers, approved arrangement class 19 accredited persons and customs brokers who import or lodge consignments of tyres, aircraft and machinery/machinery parts.

What has changed?

From 7 August 2024, the scope of the highly compliant importer (HCI) scheme will be expanded to include the following commodities:
