Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, offshore treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, principal agents and master consolidators.
The Environmental Biosecurity Advisory Group (EBAG) met online on 10 November 2023.
EBAG members were updated on the priority environmental biosecurity work of the Environmental Biosecurity Office in DAFF and work undertaken by the Office of the Threatened Species Commissioner at the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
The Australian Chief Environmental Biosecurity Officer Dr Bertie Hennecke briefed the group on developments regarding the red imported fire ant (RIFA) eradication program.

Pre-border biosecurity treatment providers and clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers, and customs brokers associated with importing goods that require Brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) treatment during the BMSB risk season (goods manufactured in or shipped from target risk countries, that have been shipped between 1 September and 30 April (inclusive) as sea cargo).
