Fertiliser Supply Working Group Meeting – 15 May 2026
The Government/Industry Fertiliser Supply Working Group met for the seventh time on 15 May 2026.
The Working Group received an update from the Australian Government on work with Incitec Pivot and CSBP, using the newly established financial arrangements with Export Finance Australia, to identify three cargoes representing over 90,000 tonnes of additional agricultural-grade urea for farmers.
The Government also noted that Export Finance Australia was working with a range of other fertiliser importers to enable them to also identify and secure further cargoes for Australia.
ABARES provided the meeting with a presentation on seasonal conditions across Australia which are influencing production decisions and impacting fertiliser demand.
The Working Group discussed the ongoing work on international sourcing opportunities, being undertaken by both industry and the Australian Government.
