Government/Industry Fertiliser Supply Working Group Communiqué
Fertiliser Supply Working Group Meeting – 31 July 2026
The Government/Industry Fertiliser Supply Working Group met for the thirteenth time on 31 July 2026.
The Working Group focused on lessons learned from Australia’s response to fertiliser supply chain disruptions as a result of the Middle East conflict, and discussed potential options to support fertiliser supply chain resilience and preparedness for future disruptions.
The Working Group recognised that the Fuel Security and Resilience Package delivered important outcomes, and shared views on what actions could be considered by both Government and industry in the future to increase long-term supply chain resilience.
In addition to existing initiatives, the Working Group also discussed opportunities to diversify supply, alignment with broader emergency response arrangements, the value of government-industry coordination, and approaches to support risk management ahead of future disruptions.
The Working Group will convene again to further discuss existing, and potential options, to strengthen resilience and preparedness of Australia’s fertiliser supply chains.
