The Northern Western Australia and Northern Territory Hub (Northern Hub) is improving the drought resilience of farmers, traditional owners, and communities in the tropical Top End and rangelands. The hub focuses on agricultural and forestry systems, and water management.
Funding
The Australian Government is contributing $8 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund. Hub partners will provide co-contributions of $13.9 million over 4 years.

Northern Hub and node locations
The core site is at Charles Darwin University in Darwin.
Northern Territory nodes are in:
- Katherine
- Tennant Creek
- Alice Springs
Western Australian nodes are in:
- Carnarvon
- Karratha
- Broome
- Kununurra
These nodes were chosen for their proximity to producers and to hub member locations.

Hub activities improve farmers’ and communities’ resilience to future droughts. Stakeholders codesign and implement activities to achieve greater drought preparedness. The hub complements existing services by identifying gaps, reviewing past drought experiences, and providing advice on:
