Southern NSW Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub

The Southern NSW Hub (SNSW Hub) is led by Charles Sturt University. The hub supports farmers and communities from the Far West, Riverina, Monaro and the coastal plains of NSW to become more drought resilient.

Funding

The Australian Government is contributing $8 million over 4 years through the Future Drought Fund. Hub partners will provide co-contributions of $11.9 million over 4 years.

The hub's primary shopfront is at Charles Sturt's AgriPark in Wagga Wagga.

  • wool
  • cropping
  • rice
  • cotton
  • inland aquaculture
  • perennial horticulture (including viticulture).

Major focus

The hub’s focus is water management, food security and farming systems.

The hub is helping farmers and communities adopt a long-term perspective on drought by providing innovative tools and techniques to build drought resilience.

The hub gives stakeholders a voice in activities, encouraging them to collaborate with experts, access resources and participate in workshops, seminars and field days.

The hub’s vision is one of connected and adaptable people and places. Hub members work together to increase the region’s preparedness and ability to capitalise on future opportunities.
