2021-18: Mexico: Dairy Products: Changes to Export Certification with implementation of NEXDOC from 17 May 2021

Purpose

To provide information on the new export certification requirements for dairy exports to Mexico due to the implementation of the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) for dairy from Monday 17 May 2021.

Summary of key points

  • Following representation by the department, Mexico has agreed to new certification arrangements for dairy products from 17 May 2021.
  • The ZD035 certificate template will no longer be available for the export of dairy products to Mexico and will be replaced by the ZDMX01 certificate template.
  • Changes to the ZDMX01 certificate from 17 May 2021 for dairy products to Mexico include:
    • The requirement that the expiry date, batch number and packing date of the product is entered into NEXDOC when completing a request for export (REX), (previously known as a request for permit (RFP)). Previously this information went into the ‘Additional product description’ field.
    • The ZDMX01 should be accompanied by the endorsement number 456 (this endorsement has remained unchanged).
  • Failure to enter the expiry date, batch number and packing date information correctly or provide correct certificates to the Servicio Nacional de Sanidad, Inocuidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (SENESICA) of Mexico, may result in consignments being rejected or detained.
  • The department’s Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) page has been updated to reflect the changes to certification requirements.
  • If you have questions about where the information will be inserted into NEXDOC please contact your third party software provider.
