Purpose
This Market Access Advice (MAA) advises stakeholders of changes to transit certificate requirements for dairy products transiting through Türkiye from 1 April 2026.
Summary of key points
Türkiye has notified the department of a new model certificate required for products of animal origin transiting through Türkiye, to take effect from 1 April 2026. The certificate applies to dairy products as well as other products of animal origin.
Turkish authorities have further advised the department that from 1 April 2026, consignments must be accompanied by the new model certificate.
The department issues “Health Certificate for the entry into the Union of dairy products intended for human consumption that are required to undergo a pasteurisation treatment” (certificate template ZDTRT) for dairy product transiting through Türkiye.
From 1 April 2026, certificate template ZDTRT may not be accepted at border entry points in Türkiye. Exports accompanied by this template are at commercial risk.
To assist exporters, the department will issue a facilitation letter for each consignment that leaves Australia accompanied by the ZDTRT certificate and encounters clearance issues. Exporters should contact the department at exportstandards@aff.gov.au for a copy of the facilitation letter Even with provision of this letter to port officials, the consignment may still be at commercial risk.
The department is working to make the new certificate available in NEXDOC as soon as possible.
Further advice will be provided when the new certificate is available.
Micor
The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) will be updated to reflect this market access advice. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made the preceding week.
