Purpose
To inform dairy stakeholders about the updated dairy product category codes and establishment registered operations for export manufacturers.
Key points
What has changed?
The department has made additional updates to the dairy establishment registered operations and product category codes following its review. Details of the review can be found in in previous industry advice notices (IANs) (see background).
The updated list of dairy registered operations is provided in Attachment 1, which includes definitions and a summary of key changes that may impact your manufacturing establishment's export registration, as well as related product types and category codes.
Attachment 2 lists the dairy product category codes that will be available for use in the next export documentation (NEXDOC) system from mid-2023. The department’s website will be updated to reflect these changes.
What do you need to do by 13 June 2023?
Manufacturers are required to review Attachment 1 and notify dairyeggsfish@aff.gov.au of any registered operations applicable to their establishment’s export registration. New registered operations will not be added to your export registration without prior approval from the department. Some registered operations are being discontinued or amended and failure to provide advice about which registered operations are applicable may result in the removal of discontinued operations from your export registration, which could impact your ability to export certain products.
Registered dairy exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders, and automated export permit issuers (AEPIs) are required to review Attachment 2 and take note of the updated dairy product category codes, including codes that have been added, removed, or renamed. Any required changes to dairy category codes should be implemented in export systems, training, and instructional material before the implementation date (mid-2023).
