Purpose

Provide additional advice to egg exporters on requesting certification before the mandatory electronic certification takes effect from 1 July 2017.

Background

Electronic certification will become mandatory for all egg exports from 1 July 2017. See previous Market Access Advice Notice (MAA 2017-05) for further information about the changes.

If the intended export destination country is not listed in Table 1

If you are exporting to a destination country not listed in Table 1 then certificate templates (and endorsement/s) may need to be created in EXDOC so you need to take the following steps:

  1. Check the department’s Manual of Importing Country Requirements (MICoR) for known importing country requirements.
    1. If the destination country’s requirements are not listed in MICoR, you will need to confirm, in writing, the certification requirements with your importer or with the importing country authority.
  2. Contact the dairy, eggs and fish program to ensure the appropriate certificate templates (and endorsement/s) are available in EXDOC before applying for export certification.

Please be aware that it may take some time to build new certification templates into EXDOC depending upon the requirements. Exporters currently using manual documentation for countries that are not listed in table 1 should take action now to ensure that the templates are available before 1 July 2017.

To use EXDOC post 30 June 2017

If you are not registered as an exporter on EXDOC then you will need to register as an exporter to obtain export documentation. Please see MAA 2017-05 for further information on registration in EXDOC as an exporter.
