Purpose

This Market Access Advice (MAA) is for export registered vessels and land-based establishments (including stores) who are currently listed for China.

If you are currently supplying an exporter and are not sure if the product you prepare or store is exported to China, you are encouraged to check with your customers / suppliers as this will affect their ability to export your product.

This MAA is not applicable to the catching, preparation or storage of fish that are exported live or to dry (unrefrigerated) storage establishments.

Summary of key points

For continued access to China past 31 December 2022, you MUST act now

If your export establishment holds a current listing for China, and you wish to continue to export to China in the future, you must update your registration details within the China Import Food Enterprise Registration system (CIFER) by 31 August 2022.

All seafood establishment registrations and listings for China access are due to expire on 31 December 2022.

Failure to update your details within CIFER will result in loss of access to China on 1 January 2023, and you will need to re-apply for China listing. Attached is an infographic outlining key dates and steps needed to maintain your listing.

You must:

  1. Obtain a temporary password to access CIFER and Help Cards to assist you through the process by contacting exportlisting@aff.gov.au
  2. Action the following in CIFER:
    1. Update your establishment listing in CIFER through a ‘modification application’ by 31 August
    2. Extend your registration within CIFER once your modification has been approved by GACC by 31 September (note: this can only be completed once your modification has been approved)
