2024-34: Non-prescribed Goods – 2024-25 – End of year closure arrangements

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry stakeholders and Authorised Officers of the 2024 25 end of year closure office arrangements for the department and the non-prescribed goods export program.

Summary of changes and key points

  • The department’s Canberra offices will be closed from close of business Tuesday, 24 December 2024, reopening on Thursday, 2 January 2025.
  • The Non-prescribed Goods inbox will only be monitored on a limited basis for urgent issues over this period. Should you have any queries ahead of this time, please contact NPGexports@aff.gov.au. 
  • The general enquiry line 1800 900 090 will be available on a limited basis as follows:
    • Closed from close of business Tuesday, 24 December through to Thursday, 26 December 2024
    • Open Friday, 27 December, Monday, 30 December and Tuesday, 31 December 2024
    • Closed on Wednesday, 1 January 2025 and reopening for normal business from Thursday, 2 January 2025.
  • All regional offices and major ports will be available on a limited basis as follows:
    • Closed from close of business Tuesday, 24 December through to Thursday, 26 December 2024
    • Open Friday, 27 December, Monday, 30 December and Tuesday, 31 December 2024
    • Closed on Wednesday, 1 January 2025 and reopening for normal business from Thursday, 2 January 2025.

Assessment Services Exports

  • Assessment Services Exports will be closed on the following days:
    • Wednesday, 25 December and Thursday, 26 December 2024
    • Wednesday, 1 January 2025.
  • Assessment Services Exports will be open on the following days:
    • Friday, 27 December 2024 through until Tuesday, 31 December 2024, excluding the weekend.
    • Reopening for normal business from Thursday, 2 January 2025
  • Regular client service standards apply during this period, it is your obligation to submit correctly completed documentation allowing Assessment Services Exports 1 business day for processing air freight lodgements and 3 business days for processing sea freight lodgements.

  • For urgent assistance regarding honey, wool, skins and hides during this time, please email: nexdoc@aff.gov.au. 
  • For urgent assistance regarding all other issues relating to EXDOC/RFPs during this time please email: exdoc.helpdesk@aff.gov.au.
