2025-24: Non-prescribed Goods – 2025-26 – End of year closure arrangements

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise industry stakeholders and Authorised Officers of the 2025-26 end of year closure office arrangements for the department and the Non-prescribed Goods Export Program.

Summary of changes and key points

  • The department’s Canberra offices will be closed from close of business Wednesday 24 December 2025, reopening on Friday 2 January 2026.
  • The Non-prescribed Goods Export Program inbox will be monitored on a limited basis for urgent issues over this period. Should you have any queries ahead of this time, please contact NPGexports@aff.gov.au.
  • The department’s general enquiry line (1800 900 090) will be available on a limited basis as follows:
    • Closed from close of business Wednesday 24 December through to Friday 26 December 2025.
    • Open Monday 29 December, Tuesday 30 December and Wednesday 31 December 2025.
    • Closed on Thursday 1 January 2026 and reopening for normal business from Friday 2 January 2026.
  • All regional offices and major ports will be available on a limited basis as follows:
    • Closed from close of business Wednesday 24 December through to Friday 26 December 2025.
    • Open Monday 29 December, Tuesday 30 December and Wednesday 31 December 2025.
    • Closed on Thursday 1 January 2026 and reopening for normal business from Friday 2 January 2026.

Assessment Services Exports

  • Assessment Services Exports will be closed on the following days:
    • Thursday 25 December and Friday 26 December 2025.
    • Thursday 1 January 2026.
  • Assessment Services Exports will be open on the following days:
    • Monday 29 December 2025 through until Wednesday 31 December 2025.
    • Reopening for normal business from Friday 2 January 2026.
  • Regular client service standards apply during this period. Exporters are obliged to submit correctly completed documentation allowing Assessment Services Exports 1 business day for processing air freight lodgements and 3 business days for processing sea freight lodgements.
  • Clients requiring certificate collection on dates that offices are closed will be required to submit an overtime request to foodexports@aff.gov.au:
    • Overtime requests for 25, 26, 27 and 28 December must be sent by 11am (AEDT) on Monday 22 December 2025.
    • Overtime requests for 1 January 2026 must be sent by 11am (AEDT) on Monday 29 December 2025.
    • Overtime requests must include the following email subject format: 

Client Query – Overtime Request – Collection – REX Number -Exporter Name -Day/Date – Regional office

NEXDOC Systems Support

  • After-hours phone support will be available on Thursday 25 through to Sunday 28 December 2025 for consignments leaving prior to Monday 29 December 2025.
  • The Help Desk will be open with limited availability from Monday 29 December through to Wednesday 31 December between 10 am – 4 pm.
  • After-hours phone support will be available on Thursday 1 January 2026 for consignments leaving prior to start of business Friday 2 January.
  • Reopening for normal business from Friday 2 January 2026.
