2025-25: REMINDER: Supporting evidence requirements when raising Requests for Export (REX) for the export of raw animal by-product for export to the USA for inclusion in manufactured pet food for the EU

Attention

Inedible meat exporters, manufacturers, agents, freight forwarders.

Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the department) - Central and Regional offices.

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to remind industry of supporting evidence that must be provided by exporters when raising a Request for Export (REX) in NEXDOC for the following commodities exported to the USA for inclusion in manufactured pet food for the EU as noted in Micor meat section 8.3:

Exporter declaration on company letterhead stating that the product was sourced from a slaughter establishment that is export registered and the exporting establishment is EU TRACES listed for animal by-products. 

The declaration should include the establishment number of the registered establishment.

Raw animal by-product from wild game animals (other than kangaroo only product)M471 / 5109

Exporter declaration on company letterhead stating that the product was processed in an establishment that is EU TRACES listed for animal by-products.

The declaration should include the establishment number of the processing establishment.

The declaration should include the establishment number of the processing establishment.

The exporter declaration must be attached to the REX in section 9: Attachments when using the NEXDOC portal. If you use third party software to generate REXs for inedible meat and are not sure how to add attachments to a REX, please speak to your third-party software provider for further advice.
