Purpose
This Market Access Advice (MAA) is to inform industry that the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization, Saudi Arabia, intends to introduce a new labelling requirement, effective from 29 December 2025. The new labelling requirement applies to honey and edible apiculture products exported to Saudi Arabia.
Summary of key points
- On 30 October 2025, Saudi Arabia notified the World Trade Organization (WTO) of a new labelling requirement.
- Effective from 29 December 2029, honey and edible apiculture products exported to Saudi Arabia will be subject to the new mandatory labelling requirement.
- According to the WTO notice, the following phrase must appear on the product label: “Not suitable for infants below 12 months”.
- Exporters are encouraged to work closely with their importers to ensure that all Australian products meet importing country requirements.

- The Manual of Importing Country Requirements (Micor) will be updated to reflect this MAA. The department encourages users of Micor to subscribe to the Micor update service for a commodity-specific email that lists changes that have been made in the preceding week.
