2020-52 - Business Systems Program – Postponing the removal of paper export certificates to Indonesia

7 August 2020

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify industry that the exchange of electronic phytosanitary certificates for exports to Indonesia has been postponed.

Key points

  • The electronic exchange of phytosanitary certificates for exports to Indonesia will not be implemented on 11 August 2020.
  • The implementation has been postponed until further notice to allow final details to be confirmed to ensure a smooth and harmonised electronic certification exchange.
  • The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment will continue to issue paper phytosanitary certificates from the Export Documentation System (EXDOC) system for grain and horticulture consignments being exported to Indonesia.
  • Electronic certification is a high priority and the department is continuing to finalise the requirements with Indonesia.  Further information will be provided as it becomes available.

Background

The removal of paper export certificates to Indonesia was due to be implemented on 11 August 2020.

The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment issued Industry Advice Notice 2020-48 notifying industry of the removal of paper export certificates to Indonesia—this IAN has been rescinded
