2023-04: Assessment Services Exports – Change to contact number

06 February 2023

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to inform plant export clients and stakeholders of a change to the contact number for Assessment Services Exports.

Summary of changes and key points

  • From 20 February 2023, all queries for plant export certification requests should be made via 1800 900 090 (Select Extension 2, and then Extension 2 again). This number is serviced from 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday in the relevant time zone.
  • From 20 February 2023, the former 1800 851 306 number will be decommissioned and will not be answered.
  • We will continue to provide out of hours support for urgent plant certification authorisation or certification requests through a dedicated phone number: 03 8317 8310.

Background

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the service provided to our export clients, we have decommissioned the previous 1800 number for plant export certification requests. As a result phone queries relating to plant export authorisation and certification matters (during the hours of 8.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Friday in the relevant time zone) should be made to 1800 900 090.

Following a successful trial in February 2022, we will continue to offer out of hours phone support for urgent RFP authorisation and certification requests. This out of hours service can be reached by calling 03 8317 8310.

Non-urgent requests received out of hours will be asked to contact the department during usual business hours.

More information about the out of hours service (including time periods, eligibility, fees and charges) can be found here.
