24 December 2014

Who does this notice affect?

Importing clients who refer to the Minimum Documentary Requirements Policy  and the Non Commodity Information Requirements Policy to determine and demonstrate compliance with information requirements and documentary standards for imported goods.

What has changed?

These policies were last reviewed in 2012. Since this last review, issues have been identified and business practices have changed.

The Department is reviewing these policies to ensure the policies are clear and represent contemporary business practices.

The revised policies will improve efficiency and better manage documentary requirements. The revised policies are due to be implemented in mid 2015.

  • require clarification,
  • don’t consider contemporary business practices, or
  • don’t align with other operational policies or procedures.

We request that feedback is provided as a single consolidated response from your company/ association by 30 January 2015. Please ensure you provide contact details of an appropriate staff member who can be contacted if any clarification is required.

Clients who wish to provide feedback on these policies are invited to send submissions via email to Entry Management.
