Who does this notice affect?
Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers and principle agents— associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the 2020-21 BMSB risk season.
What has changed?
The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment is delivering two industry information sessions covering the 2020-21 BMSB seasonal measures. These measures will apply to certain goods shipped to Australia as sea cargo between 1 September 2020 and 30 April 2021 inclusive.
The sessions will provide information on the 2020-21 BMSB seasonal measures for goods being imported, shipped or treated during the BMSB risk season. The sessions will also provide industry with the opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions about the proposed measures.
The department will host two online sessions on Wednesday 9 September 2020. Due to limited numbers for each session, please only register for the online session you are likely to attend:
