Who does this notice affect?
Customs brokers and importers who import uncooked pig meat.
What has changed?
Effective 17 September 2020, all uncooked imported pig meat phone enquiries and related uncooked imported pig meat email contact with the department are to change as follows:
- Phone Calls
All uncooked pig meat phone enquiries are to be directed to the department on 1800 900 090.
- Emails
All uncooked pig meat related emails sent to the department are to be sent to a dedicated pigmeat@aff.gov.au inbox. This inbox will be monitored for general queries relating to uncooked imported pig meat as well as for processing movement requests and discrepancy notifications.
When sending an email to pigmeat@aff.gov.au, the following format must be used in the email subject heading;
Email subject line format: AA Number – Entry Number – “Request Type” e.g. V123 – A1234567 – Pig meat Movements
“Request Type” is any of the following words highlighted in bold:
- Pig Meat Movements
- Pig Meat Discrepancies
