236-2023: Unplanned Outage: Wednesday 08 November 2023 – Network

Who does this notice affect?

All clients attempting to contact the department or anticipating outcomes of biosecurity assessments.

Information

The department’s network has been impacted by the outage affecting the Optus mobile and fixed networks. The outage is ongoing but services are gradually being restored.

The following services have been restored:

  • Departmental network and internet
  • Inbound and outbound email from the departmental network.
  • Telephony, including departmental 1800 numbers

Note: Users may experience intermittent issues including call dropouts.

The following services are under restoration:

  • Telephony to Optus mobiles
  • Data services for mobile devices (phones and laptops)

Clients anticipating emails or biosecurity assessment outcomes from the following systems should anticipate delays:

  • Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS)
  • Biosecurity Portal
  • Import Management System (IMS)
  • Maritime and Aircraft Reporting System (MARS)

Clients with access to the MARS portal may be able to access their pratique status.

Action

For urgent enquiries regarding medical supplies, live animals, perishable goods or dangerous goods containers please contact the department through our online contact form

At this stage both the Biosecurity Portal and Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) are unaffected. The department will continue to process these requests as per normal.

The department apologises for any inconvenience caused and will provide further information when known.
