169-2024: 2024-2025 BMSB risk season virtual information sessions for pre-border treatment providers

2 August 2024

Who does this notice affect?

Pre-border biosecurity treatment providers and clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers, and customs brokers associated with importing goods that require brown marmorated stink bug (BMSB) treatment during the BMSB risk season.

What has changed?

We are hosting our annual information sessions for pre-border treatment providers and related industry ahead of the 2024-2025 BMSB risk season.

The sessions will cover the following topics:

  • Seasonal measures for the 2024-2025 BMSB risk season.
  • AusTreat, our pre-border biosecurity treatment providers scheme which has replaced the Offshore BMSB Treatment Providers scheme, including tips for registration.
  • Compliance verification activities, and observations from the 2023-2024 risk season.
  • How to use the Treatment certificate lodgement portal, including tips for best practice.

Officials from New Zealand’s Ministry for Primary Industries will also outline their seasonal measures for the upcoming risk season.

There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions at the end of each session.

Click one of the links below to register for a session:

  • 5pm AEST (9am CEST / 3pm SGT/CST/PHT) Tuesday 6 August 2024
  • 7am AEST Thursday 8 August 2024 (2pm PDT / 5pm EDT Wednesday 7 August 2024).

The information sessions will be most relevant for pre-border treatment providers and related industry, however attendance at either session is open to all.

We encourage treatment providers to share the registration links for the sessions with their stakeholders, including customers and supply chain partners, to ensure maximum participation.

We will host separate sessions to prepare onshore industry in Australia for the upcoming BMSB risk season. Click here to access these sessions.

Please note that all sessions will be presented in English.
