Who does this notice affect
Biosecurity industry participants and accredited persons operating under Approved Arrangement Class 19, including self-reporting importers, who are interested in accessing on-demand details in relation to departmental fees.
What has changed
An additional report for records of service (fees) has been added to industry reporting via the Biosecurity Portal for all accredited persons under an Approved Arrangement Class 19. This release provides an additional report to compliment the cargo status reporting released in November 2024.
What is included in the reports
The new report provides accredited persons with ability to view records of service for individual consignments. It includes:
- Brokerage details: The brokerage name, branch and reference number.
- Importer details: Relevant details about the importer.
- Service details: The date, direction, service units, codes and costs applied, total services fee, and payment status).
- Payment details: Payment dates and amount paid.
Potential benefits
By using this report, accredited persons can:
- Invoice clients quicker: Early visibility of the record of service allows for faster invoicing.
- Reduce enquiries to the department: Self-service reports reduce the need for calls and emails to obtain the necessary information you need.
This report delivers on commitments to improve consignment visibility for industry and was developed as part of the Simplified Targeting and Enhanced Processing Systems (STEPS) Program. STEPS is an investment in the department’s imported cargo Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and business processes to enhance Australia's biosecurity risk management by creating a faster, simpler and more integrated cargo clearance system.
How to access the reports
The reports are available via the Biosecurity Portal for eligible myID users via a ‘Industry Reporting’ tile.
Biosecurity Portal Administrators within selected organisations can manage their team’s access to the reports.
