Who does this notice affect?
All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment during this planned maintenance period.
All shipping agents or operators of maritime conveyances who will be required to report pre-arrival information during this planned maintenance period.
All importers of plants, cats and/or dogs who will be required to use the Post Entry Biosecurity System during this planned maintenance period.
All clients required to use the Next Export Documentation (NEXDOC) system during this planned maintenance period.
All users of the Seasonal Pest (SeaPest) system.
All clients submitting the below declarations:
- Full Import Declaration (FID)
- Long Form Self Assessed Clearance (LFSAC)
- Short Form Self Assessed Clearance (SFSAC)
- Cargo Report Self Assessed Clearance (CRSAC)
- Cargo Report Personal Effects (PE)

The following systems are currently experiencing an unplanned outage:
- Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)
- Maritime and Aircraft Reporting System (MARS)
- Post Entry Biosecurity System (PEBS)
- NEXDOC
- SeaPest
Clients anticipating responses from the department in relation to the above-listed declaration types may experience some delays in receiving these responses, which may be queued during the outage. These responses will send once the outage has concluded and services have been restored.
Action
This issue is being investigated as a high priority and the department will advise once services have been restored. Users are advised to avoid using the above-listed systems until services have been restored.
