Who does this notice affect?
Pre-border biosecurity treatment providers and clients in the import and shipping industries—including freight forwarders, importers and customs brokers associated with importing goods that require BMSB treatment during the BMSB risk season.
What has changed?
We are hosting our annual information sessions for pre-border treatment providers and related industry ahead of the 2025-2026 BMSB risk season.
The sessions will cover the following topics:
- Methyl Bromide Fumigation Methodology v3.0
- AusTreat registration requirements and approved treatments for BMSB
- the department’s compliance verification activities for 2025-2026 and observations from the 2024-2025 risk season
- Treatment certificate lodgement portal updates, including tips for best practice.
There will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions at the end of each session.

- 5pm AEST Tuesday 12 August 2025 (9am CEST / 3pm SGT/CST/PHT)
- 7am AEST Thursday 14 August 2025 (2pm PDT / 5pm EDT Wednesday 13 August 2025).
The information sessions will be most relevant for pre-border treatment providers and related industry, however attendance at either session is open to all.
We encourage treatment providers to share the registration links for the sessions with their stakeholders, including customers and supply chain partners, to ensure maximum participation.
Please note that all sessions will be presented in English.
