Who does this notice affect?
Stakeholders in the import and shipping industries—including vessel masters, freight forwarders, Master Consolidators, treatment providers, Biosecurity Industry Participants, importers, customs brokers, and principal agents— associated with importing goods that require increased intervention during the BMSB risk season.
What has changed?
The department is delivering two industry information sessions on the BMSB seasonal measures to apply to certain goods shipped to Australia as sea cargo between 1 September 2025 and 30 April 2026 inclusive.
These sessions will cover goods being imported, shipped or treated during the BMSB risk season.
Information Sessions
The department will host two online sessions. The details and a link to join are included in the table below. Please ensure you set a reminder in your calendar for the session you wish to attend.
