All importers and customs brokers who will be required to lodge imported cargo documentation to the department for biosecurity assessment.
Information
Restored time:
As of: 01:20 Friday 31 October 2025 (AEDT).
Detail:
Between 16:15 Wednesday 08 October 2025 and 01:20 Friday 31 October 2025 (AEDT), the Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS) had been experiencing an unplanned service disruption.
During this time, some users had reported receiving an error message when attempting to submit new lodgements (e.g. some users were prompted to provide the ‘Consignment Entry Type’, despite this information having already been provided).
This issue has been resolved via scheduled infrastructure maintenance, and users should no longer receive an error message associated with this issue.
Visual Change:
Some users may notice a slight visual change if lodging through the Full Import Declaration (FID) pathway. Previously, fields were required to be manually entered by users relating to the entry details. A range of these fields are no longer displayed as part of this fix. These details will be sourced from AIMS based on the FID number provided upon submitting the new lodgement and will still be provided to the assessment team as part of the lodgement, as expected system behaviour.
Action
No action required. The department apologises for any inconvenience caused.
