Highly Compliant Importer
Highly Compliant Importer is a reduced inspection intervention scheme based on an importer’s compliance history. It aims to reward importers who consistently meet Australia’s biosecurity requirements. To qualify for HCI, importers need to ensure eligible commodities consistently comply with Australia’s biosecurity import requirements and pass inspection.
Highly Compliant Importer targets import pathways where onshore inspection is required. Depending on the importer’s compliance history, goods will either:
- remain on 100% inspection; or
- receive reduced intervention.
Further information is available on the HCI scheme webpage.
