Who does this notice affect?
Importers, Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers who import marine fenders made from tyres.
What has changed?
The Tyres BICON case has been updated to capture ‘Tyre Fenders’ as an import condition pathway.
Three new pathways have been added, based upon pre-existing conditions for regular and oversize used tyres. The new pathways are:
- Tyre Fenders — Six hard sided container – Treatment on arrival
- Tyre Fenders – Six hard sided containers – Treatment prior to arrival
- Tyre Fenders— Not six hard sided containers – Mandatory offshore treatment.
If you import marine fenders comprised of or accompanied by tyres please refer to the new BICON import condition pathways.
To assist with identifying and ensuring we capture biosecurity risks associated with marine fenders, a new community profile (CP) question has been added to tariff 4016940017 to ask DO THE GOODS CONTAIN NEW OR USED TYRES?
