The Environmental Biosecurity Advisory Group (EBAG) meeting #15 was held on 12 September 2025 and chaired by the Australian Chief Environmental Biosecurity Officer (ACEBO) Dr Bertie Hennecke.
The meeting was held in Melbourne on the day after the 2025 Environmental Biosecurity Roundtable. Members enjoyed the opportunity to come together and review highlights from the roundtable event and offer feedback for consideration when planning future roundtables.
EBAG members were provided with updates from Wildlife Health Australia on Wild Bird Surveillance for H5 Bird flu. Staff from the Environmental Biosecurity Office also provided updates on the Exotic Environmental Pest List (EEPL) Action Plan review and the Carp Biological Control Program.
Threatened Species Commissioner, Fiona Fraser shared updates from her office and encouraged members to participate in the Implementing Australia’s Strategy for Nature Consultation. ACEBO Bertie Hennecke also took this opportunity to share an update from the recent Environment and Invasives Committee (EIC) meetings held in Perth.
