Dear Sir,

Regarding importation of apples from People's Republic of China

Australia is a country which, at the moment is self sufficient in apples

Australia has a $40 million apple industry

This industriy would be seriously impacted by importation of apples from P.R.C.

This does not even take into account the incresed fossil fuel used in the transporatation of the fruit over the long distance involved.

Yours sincerely

[Signed]

C.C. Louise Van Meurs
