Industry Advice Notice no. 2003/01: Taiwan's Change Over to Electronic Certification

Issue date: 7 March 2003

Taiwan Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine (BAPHIQ) has informed AQIS of their intention to accept electronically generated EXDOC certification only, after 30 April 2003.

In the interim, Taiwan will accept either the electronically generated EXDOC Certificates or the traditional manual certification.

Taiwan has also asked AQIS to advise them of any potential problems with this proposal.

AQIS is therefore seeking comments and views from industry clients who are exporters to the Taiwan market on the feasibility of meeting the intended deadline for a complete change over to electronic certification.

Please provide your comments to Horticulture before 30 March 2003 to enable AQIS to negotiate this deadline with BAPHIQ.
