18 June 2018

Who does this notice affect?

All importers and customs brokers.

What has changed?

Due to an upgrade to Automatic Entry Processing (AEP) functionality, the Agriculture Import Management System (AIMS) will be unavailable from 19:00 AEST on Friday 22 June 2018 until 03:00 AEST on Saturday 23 June 2018.

No other systems will be directly affected however, the following systems will not be able to retrieve any information from the AIMS database during the outage:

  • Integrated Cargo System (ICS)
  • Cargo Online Lodgement System (COLS)

Brokers/Importers are advised not to lodge any import declarations in ICS or COLS lodgements during the outage period.

After successful deployment of the new AEP functionality Biosecurity Industry Participants (BIPs) for the class 19.1 Non Commodity for Containerised Cargo Clearance(NCCC) and class 19.2 Automatic Entry Processing for Commodities (AEPCOMM) approved arrangements will be required to lodge import declarations in accordance with the updated requirements of their approved arrangement.

Please note that reference data in the ICS will be updated with the new NCCC concern types and AEPCOMM codes (processing types) from Friday 22 June 2018. This is to enable the use of the new NCCC concern types and AEPCOMM codes in third party software on Saturday 23 June 2018. The new concern types should not be used until after the outage.  Existing NCCC Concern types and AEPCOMM codes will be invalidated from the 24 June 2018.  However should not be used after the outage and the new codes are active.
