2023-12: Mandatory listing for establishments of honey & honey products being exported to Indonesia

Date of Issue: 19 April 2023

Purpose

  • This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to advise on the process to meet Indonesia’s requirements for all honey establishments exporting to Indonesia to be listed with both the department and the Ministry of Agriculture of Indonesia (MOA).

Summary of changes and key points

  • The MOA requires all foreign food establishments of honey & honey products being exported to Indonesia to be listed with the department and the MOA.
  • Part of the listing process is completion of an application form provided by the MOA. Please contact NPGExports@aff.gov.au to obtain the application form.
  • Forms are submitted to the department for assessment, then forwarded to the MOA for final approval.
  • Establishments seeking to produce honey and honey products for export to Indonesia must also be approved for listing to Indonesia by the department.
  • These requirements will take effect immediately.

Applying for listing within the department and the MOA

This requirement applies to establishments whose honey and honey products are intended for export to Indonesia. Other businesses in the export supply chain (for example, exporters, freight forwarders, storage facilities) do not need to apply.

An authorised person in management of the establishment must complete the forms. Once completed, return them to the department via email to the Non-prescribed Goods Exports Program at NPGExports@aff.gov.au.

  • To become listed with the department please complete this form: Application for export listing of establishments manufacturing/exporting non-prescribed goods.
  • To become listed with the MOA please email NPGExports@aff.gov.au to request the MOA form.
  • Once completed forms have been assessed by the department they will be forwarded to the MOA for final approval and sign-off.
  • The department will advise establishments when the process is complete, and listing has been approved.
