In mid-2023, the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) adopted a new Terrestrial Animal Health  Code chapter for equine piroplasmosis (infection with Theileria equi and/or Babesia caballi). The new chapter for equine piroplasmosis includes:

Purpose

This Industry Advice Notice (IAN) is to notify all Authorised Officers (AOs) using PEMS to lodge QSR inspection results that there will be a change to mandatory requirements relating to sub-package type from 19 August 2023.

Biosecurity Advice 2023-PO7: Commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh melon fruit from Japan

This Biosecurity Advice notifies stakeholders of the formal commencement of a review of biosecurity import requirements for fresh melon fruit for human consumption from Japan.

We expect to release the draft report for public consultation in mid-2024.

Purpose

This Market Access Advice is to notify Industry of an extension of the temporary approval period for importation of eggs and egg products for human consumption from Australia (the special egg project) until 30 June 2024.
